KAI continues to strengthen the reliability and safety of facilities at various LRT Jabodebek stations to ensure passengers enjoy a safe, comfortable, and dependable journey from the moment they enter the station area until they reach their final destination. Facility improvements are carried out through the optimisation of lighting systems, the rejuvenation of lifts and escalators, and the maintenance of station infrastructure that supports the smooth daily mobility of the public. Throughout 2026, a number of facility enhancement works have been undertaken at various stations. These works include the addition and optimisation of lighting systems at the pedestrian bridge (JPO) of Pancoran Station, the entrance area and JPO of Kuningan Station, the JPO and lift area of Rasuna Said Station, as well as the addition of air conditioning in the concourse area of Dukuh Atas Station. Additionally, KAI has implemented a rejuvenation and reliability improvement programme for lifts and escalators at several stations, including Jatimulya, Bekasi Barat, Jatibening Baru, and Cikunir 1. These works involve the replacement of various main components to maintain the safety, comfort, and reliability of facilities used by the public daily. Furthermore, corrective waterproofing maintenance of roofs has been carried out at all LRT Jabodebek stations to keep facility conditions optimal and provide comfort for passengers in various weather conditions. Manager of Public Relations for LRT Jabodebek, Radhitya Mardika, stated that station facility improvements are an essential part of maintaining the quality of safe and integrated public transport services. “Safety is the primary foundation of public transport services. Therefore, every maintenance and facility improvement programme we undertake always prioritises safety aspects for both passengers and staff, so that passengers can carry out their activities safely and comfortably from the station area until they arrive at their destination,” said Radhitya. These facility improvement efforts align with the continuously growing number of LRT Jabodebek users. In the January–May 2025 period, LRT Jabodebek served 10,727,798 passengers. Meanwhile, in the same period of 2026, it served 13,211,856 passengers. The increase in passenger numbers is also reflected in the average daily weekday ridership, which rose from around 98,000 passengers in the January–May 2025 period to approximately 120,000 passengers in the same period of 2026. This situation demonstrates the increasingly significant role of LRT Jabodebek in supporting the mobility of the Greater Jakarta community. He added that the existence of reliable facilities is an important factor in supporting the passenger travel experience, especially amidst the growing public need for integrated and comfortable public transport. “LRT Jabodebek is part of an urban transport ecosystem connected to various other transport modes. Therefore, facility improvements are continuously carried out so that passengers can transfer modes more safely, comfortably, and smoothly. Ultimately, all these efforts are aimed at delivering an increasingly better travel experience for the public,” he added. KAI will continue to carry out maintenance and station facility improvements as part of its efforts to provide safe, comfortable, and integrated public transport services for the Greater Jakarta community.
