Comedian Pandji Pragiwaksono Attends Second Questioning Regarding Toraja Case
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Comedian Pandji Pragiwaksono attended a second questioning as a witness in the investigation into alleged insulting remarks directed at the Toraja ethnic group through electronic media.
According to ANTARA’s observation, Pandji arrived at the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Directorate headquarters in Jakarta on Monday at 10.10 a.m. local time. He was wearing a black jacket, red shirt, and black hat.
He stated that the second questioning would involve further investigation into the Toraja customary court proceedings he had undergone.
“Perhaps my colleagues from the Criminal Investigation Directorate wish to know the follow-up from the customary court hearing in Toraja that I conducted approximately two weeks ago. So the questioning concerns that matter, more or less,” he said.
Regarding preparation, Pandji said he brought no documents. He merely stated that he was prepared for questioning.
During the opportunity, he also conveyed his hope that restorative justice would be applied in his case.
“Under the new Criminal Code, restorative justice is prioritised. And customary courts are prioritised too. This is what I and my legal representative, Haris Azhar, hope for. So let’s see what happens,” he said.
The Toraja Youth Alliance reported Pandji to the Criminal Investigation Directorate over allegations of insulting remarks and hateful speech targeting the Toraja community in November 2025. The alliance contended that material from Pandji’s stand-up comedy performance concerning Toraja funeral rites had denigrated and insulted the dignity of the ethnic group.
Several witnesses and experts, including the administrator of Pandji’s YouTube channel, were questioned by investigators. Subsequently, in February 2026, Pandji underwent Toraja customary sanctions.
