The increasing trend of digital fraud in recent times has driven efforts to strengthen vigilance and literacy among the public. Data from the Indonesia Anti-Scam Centre (IASC) of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) records more than 432,000 reports of digital scams from November 2024 to January 2026. The total losses amount to Rp 9.1 trillion. At the “Executive Policy Forum on Collaborative Handling of Digital Fraud and Scams” held by the Indonesian Association for Digitalisation and Cybersecurity (ADIGSI) in Jakarta on Thursday (16/4/2026), Karissa Sjawaldy, Chief of Public Affairs at PT Pembiayaan Digital Indonesia (AdaKami), stated that digital fraud and scams are industry-wide issues and a shared responsibility. As one of the online lending companies, AdaKami is committed to providing secure online loan services through the development of technology-based security systems and ongoing education. This is done to protect loan service users from various scam tactics. AdaKami also continues to collaborate with other stakeholders, such as regulators, associations, and strategic partners, to strengthen a safer digital ecosystem. In its operations, Karissa explained, AdaKami continues to bolster security systems to protect the platform from potential cyber attacks through the use of technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and big data. To protect user accounts, Karissa added, AdaKami implements an electronic know your customer (e-KYC) process with liveness detection features as part of identity verification, along with various other security features in line with industry standards. The forum was opened with a ceremony affirming joint commitments from IASC OJK, the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), the Indonesian P2P Lending Fintech Association (AFPI), and the Indonesian Fintech Association (AFTECH) as industry associations. Technological advancements, such as AI, are like a double-edged sword. On one side, this technology makes life easier for humans, but on the other, it can be exploited by irresponsible parties for gain. “Therefore, collaboration between regulators and the private sector is key to strengthening cybersecurity and enhancing user education,” said Firlie. Hudiyanto, Head of the Secretariat of the Task Force for Eradicating Illegal Financial Activities (PASTI) OJK, emphasised that digital fraud and scams have now evolved into structural, systematic challenges, and even a kind of “industry.” Therefore, collaborative actions are needed to address them. “OJK, together with the PASTI Task Force, all business actors, and related associations, continues to strengthen consumer and public protection in handling digital fraud and scams,” said Hudiyanto in the panel session “Strengthening National Coordination in Handling Digital Fraud and Scams” at the forum.
