The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) DKI Jakarta is preparing traffic engineering measures for the Jakarta Bedug Kolosal Malam Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah event, which will take place tonight at Bundaran HI. Traffic diversions will be implemented situationally on several sections of the Thamrin-Sudirman roads. Acting Head of Dishub DKI Jakarta, Ujang Harmawan, stated that this event is a cultural and religious agenda to welcome the night of Idul Fitri. The event will begin at 8:00 PM WIB and continue until completion. “The Jakarta Bedug Kolosal Malam Idul Fitri 1447 H is a cultural and religious event in commemoration of the night of Idul Fitri,” said Ujang in his statement on Friday (20/3/2026). The series of activities will include a night torch procession for takbiran, starting from the Southwest Gate of Monas Intersection towards Bundaran Bank Indonesia, passing through Jalan MH Thamrin, and ending at Bundaran Hotel Indonesia (HI). To support the smooth running of the event, Dishub will implement traffic diversions on several roads, including Jalan Jenderal Sudirman (from Karet intersection to Bundaran HI), Jalan MH Thamrin (from Bundaran HI to Patung Kuda), Jalan Kebon Sirih, Jalan KH Wahid Hasyim, Jalan Sunda, and Jalan Imam Bonjol. Vehicles from Harmoni towards Semanggi will be diverted through alternative routes such as Jalan Hayam Wuruk, Jalan Ir H Juanda, Jalan Suryopranoto, up to Jalan KH Mas Mansyur and Jalan Prof DR Satrio. Meanwhile, traffic from Semanggi to Harmoni will also be diverted via Jalan Karet, Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, up to Jalan Gajah Mada. Additionally, drivers from Gondangdia to Tanah Abang or vice versa, as well as from Tugu Tani, Imam Bonjol to Tanah Abang areas, have been prepared with alternative routes to avoid density around the event location. Dishub also mentioned that TransJakarta services will experience route and operational pattern adjustments during the event. On the other hand, 21 parking points have been prepared around the event location with a total capacity of 8,186 motorcycle spaces, 12,295 car spaces, and 98 bus spaces. Ujang urged the public wishing to attend the event to use public transportation such as TransJakarta, MRT, LRT, and Commuter Line to reduce traffic density. “Road users are expected to avoid those road sections and adjust to the applicable traffic arrangements as well as follow the directions of officers on the ground,” he said.
