Colossal Bedug at Bundaran HI: Here is the Traffic Engineering

The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency will carry out traffic engineering during the ‘Jakarta Bedug Kolosal Malam Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah’ event tonight, Friday (20/3), starting at 20.00 WIB until completion. “The traffic engineering is situational,” said Deputy Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Ujang Harmawan, in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday. The series of activities will be filled with a night torch procession for takbiran, taking the route from the Southwest Gate of Monas Intersection to Bundaran Bank Indonesia, passing through Jalan MH Thamrin, and ending at Bundaran Hotel Indonesia (HI). Ujang said the diverted road sections are Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, from the Karet Pasar Baru Timur III intersection to Bundaran Hotel Indonesia (HI). Then Jalan MH Thamrin from Bundaran HI to Bundaran Patung Kuda, Jalan Kupingan BNI 46, Jalan Kota Bumi and Jalan Baturaja and Jalan Kebon Kacang. Furthermore, Jalan Kebon Sirih on the west and east sides, Jalan KH Wahid Hasyim on the west and east sides, Jalan Sunda and Jalan Imam Bonjol. To support the smooth running of the event, the Transportation Agency will carry out traffic flow diversions on several road sections, including Jalan Jenderal Sudirman (from the Karet intersection to Bundaran HI), Jalan MH Thamrin (from Bundaran HI to Patung Kuda), Jalan Kebon Sirih, Jalan KH Wahid Hasyim, Jalan Sunda, to Jalan Imam Bonjol. Drivers from the Harmoni direction to Semanggi will be diverted through several alternative routes such as Jalan Hayam Wuruk, Jalan Ir H Juanda, Jalan Suryopranoto, to Jalan KH Mas Mansyur and Jalan Prof DR Satrio. Meanwhile, traffic from Semanggi to Harmoni will also be diverted through Jalan Karet, Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, to Jalan Gajah Mada. In addition, drivers from the Gondangdia direction to Tanah Abang or vice versa, as well as from the Tugu Tani area, Imam Bonjol, to Tanah Abang, have also been prepared with alternative routes to avoid density around the event location. The Transportation Agency also stated that TransJakarta service operations will experience route and operational pattern adjustments during the event. On the other hand, 21 parking points have been prepared around the event location with a total capacity of 8,186 motorcycle parking spaces, 12,295 cars, and 98 buses. Ujang urged the public who wish to attend the event to use public transportation such as TransJakarta, MRT, LRT, and Commuter Line to reduce traffic density. Parking Lots The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency also provides 21 parking locations around the Bedug Kolosal event venue. The provided parking lot locations are at the IRTI Monas Parking Area, Lemhamnas, National Library, Telkom STO Gambir Building, Ministry of SOEs, Menara Dana Reksa and Indosat Building. Then, Ministry of Tourism, Wisma Mandiri, TPE Sabang, Djakarta Theater, Sarinah Building, Plaza Indonesia and Grand Indonesia. Next, Wisma Nusantara, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, The City Tower, Taman Menteng, BNI 46 Building, Wisma 46 Outdoor as well as Wisma 46 Building.
