Digital transformation in the education sector continues to move forward in line with the rising need for more integrated, secure, and adaptive learning technologies in the face of artificial intelligence (AI) developments. This evolution has prompted technology companies to offer a range of digital solutions to support teaching and learning in schools.

One of the initiatives is from PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk through its subsidiary ASIX Indonesia Cerdas, which has partnered with Promethean EDXIS to develop AI-powered smart classroom solutions in Indonesia.

The collaboration, which has been ongoing since June 2025, focuses on providing educational smartboards and developing an integrated digital learning ecosystem within schools.

Andrie Tjioe, CEO and President Director of ASIX Indonesia Cerdas, said that AI in education should not merely involve providing digital devices, but must deliver real benefits in the learning process.

‘Our collaboration with Promethean EDXIS is one of ASIX’s steps to strengthen our AI Education pillar by delivering technologies that can support the transformation of learning in Indonesia,’ he said in a press release on Wednesday 20 May.

Through the partnership, the two companies plan to introduce AI-based educational smartboards that integrate with various learning devices such as tablets and student laptops.

The system also includes security features through Student Safe Security designed to protect devices from physical damage such as impact and water exposure, while also supporting monitoring of digital activity during class.

Beyond the core devices, the solution being developed also encompasses a broader digital learning ecosystem, including Explain Everything software for whiteboarding and collaboration, a mobile device management (MDM) system for central device management, and Microcloud Server enabling offline access to learning materials.

ASIX notes that the system is further strengthened by a real-time monitoring dashboard and an integrated teacher enablement suite to help teachers monitor device use and enhance technology-enabled teaching.

In terms of digital security, the solution also includes a school-specific cybersecurity system designed to detect risky digital activity, including searches related to violence, bullying, or other safety threats.

Promethean EDXIS itself has an extensive track record in global educational technology development. The company has implemented digital education solutions in more than 190 countries and territories, reaching more than 150 million users and used in over two million classrooms worldwide. (E-4)
