Collaboration of Addie MS & Twilite Orchestra, Anggun, and Judika Colours 81st Anniversary of KAI with the Harmony of Indonesia's Journey
Jakarta (ANTARA) - A meaningful atmosphere prevailed during the peak celebration of the 81st Anniversary of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) through the event ‘The Continuum – Timeless Transformation’, held at Ciputra Artpreneur, Jakarta, on Monday (28/9).
Featuring a special collaboration between Addie MS with the Twilite Orchestra, Anggun, and Judika, the celebratory night took guests through the long journey of Indonesian railways through a blend of arts, culture, music, and the story of KAI’s transformation over more than eight decades.
Attended by government officials, stakeholders, customers, business partners, communities, and various parties who have been part of KAI’s journey, the event served as a space to appreciate the company’s long history in supporting the mobility of the Indonesian people.
Carrying the theme ‘The Continuum – Timeless Transformation’, KAI presented a performance depicting the journey of Indonesian railways through the ages. Railways have been present in various phases of the nation’s journey, connecting regions, supporting community activities, and becoming part of Indonesia’s development.
President Director of KAI, Bobby Rasyidin, stated that KAI’s 81-year journey is closely linked to the journey of the Indonesian people.
“For 81 years, KAI has been part of the journey of the Indonesian nation. Railways are present to bring people to various destinations, support economic activities, and become part of many people’s travel stories,” said Bobby.
The ‘The Continuum – Timeless Transformation’ stage opened with the essence of Nusantara culture through regional dances and music that depicted Indonesia’s cultural diversity.
The atmosphere then grew more magnificent through the collaboration of Addie MS with the Twilite Orchestra, presenting harmonious orchestral arrangements. Various songs with nationalistic and Indonesian journey themes, including “Indonesia Raya”, “Indonesia Pusaka”, and the “KAI March”, were part of the performance sequence, evoking nationalism while reflecting KAI’s long history.
Through the blend of orchestral music and Indonesia’s rich culture, guests were invited to reminisce about the railway’s journey from time to time, starting from the early history of railways, the struggles of railway workers, to KAI’s transformation into a modern transportation company.
The celebration became even more special with performances by Anggun and Judika, who presented their best works. The presence of these two Indonesian singers brought a warm and elegant atmosphere to the 81st-anniversary celebration of KAI.
Bobby noted that railway journeys always carry stories embedded in the lives of the Indonesian people.
“Every train journey carries a story. There are steps towards a destination, there are activities that drive life, and there are hopes that travel alongside the train. That spirit is what continues to drive KAI to provide the best service to the public,” said Bobby.
Through ‘The Continuum – Timeless Transformation’, KAI expressed its appreciation to all KAI employees, customers, partners, and stakeholders who have been part of the company’s journey for 81 years.
KAI’s 81st anniversary serves as a momentum to look back at the long journey of Indonesian railways, which continues to move from the past towards the future, carrying history, innovation, and the spirit of ‘Semakin Melayani’ (Serving More).
