The Provincial TP PKK and Posyandu of Central Java have forged a strategic partnership with PT Biosirkular Inovasi Indonesia and PT Gapura Mas Lestari to promote household waste management based on a circular economy. The collaboration was established as part of the commemoration of Earth Day 2026 at the provincial level, held at Horison Resort Tlogo on Wednesday, May 13th.

The agreement was signed by the Chair of the TP PKK and also the Chair of the TP Posyandu of Central Java, Nawal Arafah Yasin, along with representatives from both companies. This collaboration is part of an effort to strengthen the circular economy in Central Java through a community-based approach.

The concept of a circular economy emphasizes sustainable resource management by maximizing the reuse of waste to create added economic value while reducing environmental impact.

Through the network of TP PKK and TP Posyandu at the village level, the program is expected to build a more structured, participatory, and sustainable culture of household waste management. In addition, the program aims to empower communities through economic activities based on domestic waste management.

PT Biosirkular Inovasi Indonesia and PT Gapura Mas Lestari will support the development of this ecosystem through systems for collecting, managing, educating the public, and optimizing the use of household waste, including used cooking oil.

The Director of PT Biosirkular Inovasi Indonesia, Dicka Dwi Candra, said that this collaboration is a concrete step in building a community-based circular economy ecosystem.

“The circular economy is not just about waste management, but also about how communities can be part of the solution to environmental problems while also obtaining sustainable economic benefits,” said Dicka.

Meanwhile, the Director of PT Gapura Mas Lestari, Heru Fidiyanto, said that cross-sectoral collaboration is important in the face of increasing challenges related to household waste. According to him, synergy between local governments, community organizations, and the private sector is an important step in strengthening public awareness of waste management that has both practical and economic value.

“The circular economy approach must be built from the community level. When waste can be managed well and has added value, the impact will not only be felt by the environment, but also by the community directly,” said Heru.

The collaboration is expected to become a model for collaboration between local governments, community organizations, and the private sector in supporting sustainable development in Central Java.

Through this synergy, all parties hope that public awareness of the importance of the circular economy will continue to grow and become part of the lifestyle and future development system. (E-3)
