The Human Resources Development Centre for Communication and Digital (BLSDM Komdigi) Bandung, in collaboration with the Cilegon City Communication, Informatics, Statistics, and Encryption Office, has organised Digital Apparatus Training under the theme ‘The Utilisation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Government’. The training, attended by dozens of employees from the Cilegon City Government, was conducted virtually via Zoom from 2 to 5 June 202<0xA0>6.

The event was officially opened by the Head of the Cilegon City Communication, Informatics, Statistics, and Encryption Office, Agus Zulkarnain, on Tuesday, 2 June 2026. During her opening remarks, the Acting Head of BLSDM Komdigi Bandung, Nur Azizah, expressed her appreciation to the Cilegon City Government for the collaboration that enabled the successful implementation of the training.

“We thank the Cilegon City Kominfo Office for the collaboration that allowed this Digital Apparatus Training on the Utilisation of AI in Government to take place. Digital technology is currently developing very rapidly and has become an inseparable part of our lives, including Artificial Intelligence, which is advancing at an extremely high speed,” said Nur Azizah.

Nur Azizah emphasised that mastering AI technology is a vital necessity for government officials to ensure they do not fall behind in the face of modern developments. She noted that AI can help accelerate tasks and increase productivity, thereby providing a positive impact on the quality of public services. “If we do not use AI, we will become outdated and irrelevant. There is even a saying that humans who do not use AI will be replaced by humans who do use AI,” she added.

Consequently, Nur Azizah stated that this training is an effort to bridge the digital skills gap so that officials can develop more quickly and provide better services to the community. Over the four-day training period, participants studied various materials, ranging from basic AI concepts and the ethics of AI utilisation to the use of AI Chatbots and the application of AI technology to support the daily duties of government officials.

Agus Zulkarnain, who opened the event, noted that rapid digital technological advancements have transformed various aspects of life, including how the government operates and serves the public. “One of the technologies developing rapidly and providing a significant impact is Artificial Intelligence,” he said.

According to Agus, AI presents great opportunities to increase official productivity through various applications, such as data analysis, document preparation, information management, and supporting more effective, data-driven decision-making processes. Therefore, government officials must understand and master this technology to meet the challenges of an increasingly dynamic modern bureaucracy.

“This training is part of the support from the Ministry of Communication and Digital through BLSDM Komdigi Bandung, as well as a manifestation of the Cilegon City Government’s commitment to increasing the digital capacity and competence of civil servants (ASN),” he stated.

Agus expressed his hope that participants would engage seriously with the training and utilise the opportunity to enhance skills that can be applied directly to their respective work environments. “The use of digital technology requires a change in mindset, work culture, and the ability to adapt to innovation. Officials who can effectively utilise digital technology and AI will be the primary drivers of a more responsive, budget-efficient, transparent, and innovative government,” Agus remarked.

He expressed optimism that the training would produce competent and creative digital officials ready to act as agents of change in supporting Cilegon’s vision for advanced, prosperous, and sustainable development.

One of the training participants, Abdurrahman Dafá Alsyauqi, noted that the training is highly relevant to the current needs of officials. “I believe this training is very important because AI helps civil servants become more technologically literate. AI technology can be a tool to support productivity and work effectiveness if used properly,” he said.

However, he noted that the greatest challenge in utilising AI is ensuring that officials use the technology wisely without becoming entirely dependent on it for government duties. Furthermore, the use of AI must be handled carefully to ensure that personal and official data and information remain secure.
