PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk. has reported a force majeure event following a fire at its Continuous Tandem Cold Mill (CTCM) production area within the company’s Cold Rolling Mill (CRM) plant. The incident occurred on Sunday (19/7/2026).

This was conveyed by the company through an information disclosure report to the Financial Services Authority (OJK) numbered 070/Corsec-KS/2026 dated 23 July 2026. The company’s management explained that the incident falls under the category of material information or facts impacting the company due to its compelling nature, in accordance with OJK Regulation No. 31/POJK.04/2015 as amended by POJK No. 45/2024 concerning the Development and Strengthening of Issuers and Public Companies, as well as Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) Regulation No. I-E.

As a result of the fire, Acting Corporate Secretary Rachman Hidayat stated that the company’s CRM plant is now constrained in producing Full Hard Cold Rolled Coil (CRC). However, the company confirmed that the CRM plant can still operate to produce CRC Soft through the Batch Annealing Furnace (BAF) facility, as well as Hot Rolled Pickled and Oiled (HRPO) products via the Continuous Pickling Line (CPL) facility.

To maintain the supply of Full Hard CRC in the domestic market, Krakatau Steel stated it will pursue a cooperation scheme with several other domestic CRC producers. The company did not provide further details regarding the estimated financial losses or the recovery timeline for the plant following the incident. Management emphasised that this report was submitted to fulfil the obligation of information disclosure to regulators and the public.
