Coda Expands Fraud Prevention Efforts through Latest Guard Your Game Campaign
Two months after its regional launch, Coda is strengthening its online fraud prevention initiative through the Guard Your Game campaign. This campaign, supported by the Ministry of Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia/Bekraf, returns with a new video featuring the mascot Codee and will be launched in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore.
Singapore, (ANTARA/PRNewswire) - Coda, a global leader in digital content monetisation and distribution, today marks the next phase of the Guard Your Game anti-fraud campaign with the launch of a new video across its regional social media channels. The video brings back Codee, Coda’s anti-fraud mascot, to continue educating gamers on how to stay safe online, with practical steps that players can take to protect themselves from malicious actors during digital purchases.
This launch is a continuation of the Guard Your Game campaign, first introduced in February 2026 with various consumer education materials, including the Indonesian-language Guidebook “Jaga Akunmu” and Coda’s Online Safety Domain Checker feature, supported by the Ministry of Creative Economy/Bekraf. The campaign has now expanded its reach through social media video content, bringing Codee’s guidance to audiences in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore. The video is available in English and Indonesian.
Codee fights back against scams
First introduced at the Guard Your Game launch, Codee is designed to represent Coda’s anti-fraud campaign, aiming to add a fun and recognisable touch to raise awareness of scams among gamers. The latest video builds on the momentum from the previous guidebook and online materials, guiding gamers in recognising common scam warning signs, such as sudden reward notifications, suspicious links, and sites mimicking trusted platforms like Codashop, Coda’s digital content marketplace.
The video also reiterates the use of Coda’s Online Safety Domain Checker at coda.co/online-safety, which allows gamers to verify a website’s authenticity before interacting, and is a key tool introduced in Phase 1 of the campaign.
Ongoing threats across Southeast Asia
In Southeast Asia, digital scams are increasingly prevalent, and unfortunately, Indonesian gamers are among the most targeted. The 2025 State of Scams in Southeast Asia report from the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) shows that nearly two-thirds of Indonesian adults have faced scam attempts in the past year, with one in three becoming victims. Total losses in Indonesia alone are estimated at Rp49 trillion (approximately US$3.3 billion) over the last 12 months. Scam tactics like identity impersonation, fake reward claims, and phishing links targeting digital purchase platforms are among the most commonly reported, and this pattern is consistent in regions where the Guard Your Game campaign is active.
“At Coda, our commitment to safe and trusted transactions goes hand in hand with our efforts to deliver the best experience for gamers,” said Liz Adam, VP of Corporate Affairs at Coda. “Guard Your Game” is a tangible manifestation of that commitment. As scammers’ tactics continue to evolve, our approach to educating and protecting consumers must also adapt. This video is a strategically designed step to reach gamers on the platforms they use, while fostering ongoing vigilance against various scam threats. We want every player to transact with confidence and clearly understand the steps to take when encountering something suspicious.
“The continuation of the Guard Your Game campaign is a strong example of how industry and government can collaborate to build a safer digital environment for users. As Indonesia’s creative economy continues to grow, there is an increasing urgency to protect consumers, including the gaming community. We appreciate Coda’s creative approach in bringing back Codee as the main mascot to raise awareness about online gaming security. Ongoing efforts to increase consumer awareness like this are crucial in building the trust needed for the creative economy sector to continue thriving. By adapting this regional initiative to the local context, the campaign ensures that important messages about digital security reach society more broadly, down to the community level, while strengthening our shared commitment to protecting gamers and all users both in Indonesia and across Southeast Asia.” — Muhammad Neil El Himam, Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology, Ministry of Creative Economy/Bekraf
