Coconut tosser gets five months

JAKARTA (JP): A man was jailed for five months for hitting
another in the head with coconut, Antara reported yesterday.

The Medan District Court found 33-year old Antoni Aritonang
guilty of injuring Sutan Parlindungan Siregar, 55, last October.

Antoni, a small-scale trader by profession, admitted in court
to throwing the coconut because he was angered by banter earlier
in the day.

Sutan's injury required several stitches, the court was told.

The jail term was two months lighter than sought by the
prosecution. The judge said this was partly because Antoni had
shown remorse. (emb)
