CNBC Indonesia, the country’s largest and most integrated economic media outlet, held the Road to CNBC Indonesia Awards 2026 ‘Best Consumer’ to recognise consumer-industry players for their role in driving consumption in Indonesia.

Coca-Cola Indonesia received the award in the Excellence in Water Stewardship and Circular Packaging category. The award was presented by Andi Rizaldi, an expert staff member for the Acceleration of Industry 4.0 Transformation at the Ministry of Industry, during the event on Thursday (29 October 2026).

Coca-Cola has been implementing circular-economy initiatives in Indonesia since at least 2023. The bottles it uses are made from bottles and produced responsibly and sustainably. More recently, Coca-Cola Indonesia, through the Coca-Cola Foundation Indonesia (CCFI), supported organic-waste management in Gilingan, Banjarsari, Surakarta, Central Java, by providing a composting facility.

Triyono Prijosoesilo, Senior Director of Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability at PT Coca-Cola Indonesia and Chair of the Coca-Cola Foundation Indonesia, said the facility was provided because waste issues are linked to the availability of clean water. Waste management is also a challenge for urban communities.

The composting facility has a capacity of 2,000 litres and can process organic waste into compost. Local residents can harvest the compost produced by the facility after two months.
