Cobra Slithers into Bedroom at Night, Bogor Resident Calls Fire Brigade

A Javan spitting cobra entered a resident’s bedroom in Padurenan Village, Gunung Sindur District, Bogor, West Java. Firefighters were called to evacuate the snake.

Head of the Bogor Regency Fire Department, Yudi Santosa, stated the incident occurred on Tuesday (23/6) at 21.50 Western Indonesian Time. The concerned resident reported the incident to the fire department.

‘The caller discovered a snake that had entered their bedroom. The caller immediately contacted the Parung Sector Fire Department to evacuate the snake,’ Yudi said on Wednesday (24/6/2026).

Yudi noted that officers received the report five minutes later. Subsequently, at 22.14 Western Indonesian Time, officers arrived at the reported location.

Upon arrival, officers immediately carried out the evacuation. The evacuation was conducted using a number of tools until the cobra was successfully removed.

‘The situation ended safely, the evacuation took 15 minutes,’ he concluded.
