Bali will host a forum on coal, involving coal producers, consumers and government representatives from Southeast Asia next week.
The Indonesian Energy and Mineral Resources announced on its official website on Friday that a council meeting of the ASEAN Forum on Coal (AFOC) will be held at the Padma Hotel, Legian, Bali, from June 24 through 25.
About 60 delegates from the Association of Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN) will attend the forum. They include representatives of coal producers, associations of coal producers, coal consumers, including Indonesian electricity company PT PLN as well as government representatives.
In addition, representatives from ASEAN’s partner countries, including Japan, South Korea and China, will also be at attendance.
Participants from ASEAN countries will present updated reports on coal cooperation under APAEC agreements from 2004-2009. The forum will also discuss other regional and international issues on coal.
This will be the third time the meeting is held in Indonesia. Jakrta hosted the first forum in 2000 and the third in 2003.
