Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Irwandi Arif, Chairman of the Indonesia Mining Institute, has outlined the significant impacts of production quota reductions for nickel and coal in the 2026 Work Plan and Budget (RKAB).

The substantial reduction in the 2026 RKAB will affect miners’ production plans and long-term contracts that were previously targeted. However, the objective of cutting the RKAB may not necessarily maintain stability in global commodity prices.

Arif also noted that this policy could reduce state revenue through non-tax receipts (PNBP). The impacts of the 2026 mining RKAB cuts were discussed in detail during Closing Bell, CNBC Indonesia (Thursday, 19 February 2026).
