Co-worker Dies After Being Stabbed in the Head with a Screwdriver
RJ, 26, could not be saved. He was taken to Garba Med Hospital in Kerobokan, North Kuta, Badung, but medical staff pronounced him dead. RJ suffered severe head injuries after being stabbed with a screwdriver by a co-worker identified by the initial A.
The violent incident took place in the car park of Jinar Beauty & Wellness on Jalan Batu Belig, Kerobokan Kelod, North Kuta, Badung, Bali, on Sunday evening (18 October).
The alleged assault was thought to have been prompted by miscommunication, or a misunderstanding, between the victim and the suspect. Several people at the site reportedly heard an argument before the tragic incident came to light at around 7pm local time.
Found covered in blood
According to information gathered, several people at the site found RJ covered in blood, with an injury to the right side of his head. He was taken to a nearby clinic for treatment.
As he was unconscious, the man from Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, was then taken to Garba Med Hospital in Kerobokan. He could not be saved and was pronounced dead. RJ’s body was subsequently taken to Prof Ngoerah General Hospital in Denpasar for further handling.
North Kuta Police Chief Commissioner I Ketut Sukadana had not responded to a request for comment about the incident. However, North Kuta Police Criminal Investigation Unit chief First Inspector I Komang Juliarto confirmed it had taken place.
“Plans are to issue a statement tomorrow,” Juliarto said briefly when contacted via WhatsApp on Monday (19 October 2026).
Suspect was repairing a door
Another source said the suspect and victim worked at the same site. The suspect allegedly lost his temper and attacked RJ, killing him, reportedly because of a misunderstanding. A fight reportedly broke out while the suspect was repairing a door and carrying a screwdriver.
North Kuta Police have conducted a crime-scene investigation, questioned several witnesses and examined CCTV footage from the site. Officers have also cordoned off the area, secured evidence and taken the suspect into custody.
