CNG Standby Workshops Serve BBG Vehicles on Eid Exodus Routes, Operating 24 Hours
JAKARTA – Standby Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) workshop services along the Eid al-Fitr homecoming routes in 2026 highlight their crucial role in ensuring smooth journeys for users of gas-fuelled vehicles (BBG).
PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN), together with PT Gagas Energi Indonesia (PGN Gagas) and the Komogas community, has introduced the Idul Fitri 1447 H Standby Workshop at the Cirebon Gas Fuel Filling Station (SPBG) in West Java, operating around the clock.
“The strengthening of CNG utilisation along the homecoming routes aligns with the growing energy needs towards cleaner and more efficient solutions,” said PGN Corporate Secretary Fajriyah Usman in a press statement on Wednesday (1/4/2026).
“In the current global situation full of uncertainties, clean energy is no longer just an option but a necessity. Therefore, the optimisation of natural gas, including CNG, is a strategic step to bolster national energy resilience while reducing costs for the public,” she added.
During the homecoming period, 55 vehicles were recorded utilising the service, comprising 40 bajaj units and 15 BBG car units. The presence of the standby workshop provides convenience for travellers to perform checks and maintenance without deviating from the main travel route.
Through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, PGN positions this service as direct support to the community amid the annual surge in mobility.
“With increasingly reliable infrastructure and services, we hope CNG adoption will continue to rise, especially during high-mobility periods like Eid,” said Fajriyah.
“The implementation of this programme demonstrates real impact on the ground. We aim to ensure all BBG vehicle users can undertake their homecoming journeys peacefully without concerns about vehicle condition,” said Santiaji.
“The standby workshop service at the SPBG is available so that checks and maintenance can be carried out quickly and practically,” he added.
He explained that most vehicles arrived for general inspections of the BBG system, including repairs to installations, to ensure vehicles remain in safe and optimal condition.
“We ensure every vehicle that arrives receives a thorough inspection, particularly on safety aspects of the installation and BBG system performance, so users can continue their journeys more peacefully and comfortably,” he continued.
“For us in the community, the presence of this standby workshop is very helpful, especially for users on long-distance trips,” said Andy.
“This support provides peace of mind due to the certainty of services when needed, while also encouraging more people to switch to more efficient and environmentally friendly energy,” he concluded.
This simple yet responsive standby workshop service serves as an important pillar along the homecoming route, ensuring journeys remain safe without technical disruptions.
