Following the success of its inaugural event in Vietnam in 2025, CMES is expanding to Indonesia with the ‘CMES Indonesia International Machine Tool Exhibition’ scheduled for 2-4 July 2026 at the Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE) in Jakarta (Halls 5 & 6).

As Southeast Asia’s largest economy, Indonesia continues to develop rapidly through the ‘Making Indonesia 4.0’ programme. The metal processing industry is shifting from conventional casting techniques to high-precision component manufacturing.

This transition, according to Sun Xiao Li, representative from the CMES Indonesia organiser, is driven by demand from the automotive, electronics, infrastructure, and new energy sectors.

Nevertheless, he acknowledged that the development of the domestic machine tool industry remains in its early stages.

‘Around 75% of premium equipment still comes from imports, thus opening strategic opportunities for international suppliers,’ said Sun Xiao Li in a press statement on Thursday (2/4) in Jakarta.

Data from the Ministry of Industry indicates that the performance of the Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment, and Electronics (ILMATE) sector in the third quarter of 2025 showed a positive trend. This sector remains one of the main drivers of the national processing industry, with annual growth (YoY) reaching 6.96%.

This growth was driven by increased production activities across various ILMATE sub-sectors. One of them, the machinery and equipment industry, recorded fairly high growth of 11.74% (YoY).

This increase aligns with the surge in demand for capital goods, triggered by production expansions and investments in various manufacturing sectors.

In this context, the exhibition, covering an area of more than 15,000 square metres, will feature various leading global machine brands, displaying metal-cutting machine tools, metal-forming machines, machine tool accessories, grinding tools, as well as industrial automation solutions and robotics.

Serving downstream industries such as automotive and motorcycle parts manufacturing, 3C electronics, household and office equipment, and general machinery, the exhibition addresses the continuously increasing needs for industrial equipment and smart manufacturing solutions in Southeast Asia.

The ‘CMES Indonesia International Machine Tool Exhibition’ is the first such event in Indonesia. Therefore, to educate and communicate the event to the public, CMES is implementing a marketing strategy through Online to Offline (O2O) integration.

The O2O strategy includes collaborations with global and local media such as Google, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Kompas, Bisnis Indonesia, Jawa Pos, Media Indonesia, and others, combined with content marketing, live streaming, and videos to significantly enhance brand visibility.

Additionally, launching billboards on toll roads and banners in major Jakarta transportation hubs, as well as industrial areas ahead of the exhibition, to attract broad market attention.

Furthermore, CMES utilises intelligent data analysis to support precise business cooperation matchmaking between exhibitors, quality buyers, and decision-makers.

In addition, CMES Indonesia is forging strategic partnerships with the Indonesian government and industry associations to organise high-level industry forums, as well as an International Buyer Matchmaking Meeting, creating a premier platform to drive business growth for industry players.

As China’s largest private exhibition organiser by area, CMES has over 24 years of experience, with exhibition areas exceeding 600,000 square metres and attracting more than 600,000 buyers annually.

For example, at last year’s exhibition in Vietnam, there were over 600 million online exposures, 11,602 visitors, and more than 30,000 business interactions.
