Club donates 2 million bags of blood

TANGERANG: The Lippo Karawaci Blood Donors Club donated on Wednesday 2 million bags of blood to the Indonesian Red Cross' Tangerang branch to commemorate the club's fifth anniversary.

The donation took place at the Siloam Gleneagles Hospital in Karawaci.

Members of the club are employees of Lippo Bank, AIG Lippo insurance, Matahari department stores, Siloam Gleneagles Hospital and Lippo Karawaci Supermall.

Tangerang Red Cross chief Achmad Shiddiq said he hoped more people would follow the club's example and donate blood.

"Then we could have sufficient supplies for dengue fever patients at hospitals in Tangerang," he said. -- JP
