Clouds Becoming More Vulnerable, ESET Releases Free Security Feature for Users in Indonesia
JAKARTA - Software and cybersecurity company ESET has introduced a new feature named ESET Cloud Workload Protection, integrated into the ESET Protect platform. This feature is available at no additional cost to ESET Protect service customers in Indonesia. It has been released amid increasing security risks in cloud environments, which now form the backbone of digital transformation. The feature can protect cloud workloads in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. It is also designed to facilitate users in monitoring cyber threats through a single dashboard view (single pane of glass). The introduction of this feature is considered relevant as cloud adoption grows among various organisations and businesses in Indonesia. This growth is accompanied by heightened security risks. Yudhi stated that cloud is now adopted not only by large companies but also by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). According to Yudhi, many organisations, particularly MSMEs, still lack adequate protection at the cloud layer. This condition makes them vulnerable to cyber attacks such as ransomware, configuration errors (misconfiguration), as well as limitations in visibility and security team resources. “With ESET Cloud Workload Protection, we reduce the attack surface faced by users while extending protection to cloud workloads in public cloud, private cloud, or on-premise,” said Yudhi. The feature enables companies to monitor and protect virtual machines (VMs) in the cloud via a single integrated dashboard, making management easier. Admins can also directly install the protection system and configure it automatically. With this ease, Yudhi believes the latest protection feature is suitable for companies of all sizes, large or small. Yudhi also mentioned that the feature is supported by artificial intelligence (AI) technology to detect anomalies and behaviour-based threats, as well as to respond automatically before the impact spreads. Yudhi added that the module is designed to be lightweight, so it does not burden server performance. The feature also assists IT teams in the audit and compliance process with security standards such as NIST, CIS, and PCI DSS by providing the necessary audit evidence. According to Yudhi, ESET’s solution also supports organisations in meeting various data protection regulations in Indonesia, including the Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP) and security guidelines from BSSN.
