JAKARTA – The impact of volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau is still disrupting flight schedules. As of Monday (7/9/2026), seven airports in the regions of Lampung, Banten, Jakarta and West Java remain temporarily closed.

According to information from the Instagram account of the Class I Utama Airport Authority Office Region I (@otbansatu), the seven airports remain closed due to the spread of volcanic ash until 18.00 WIB on Monday. The seven airports are Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Raden Inten II Airport, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Husein Sastranegara Airport, Budiarto Airport, Pondok Cabe Airport and M Taufik Kiemas Airport.

“Seven airports within the working area of Otban I Office affected by volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau have ceased operations until 18.00 WIB,” the account wrote, as quoted by Republika on Monday.

Previously, the closure of the seven airports had been in effect until 08.59 WIB on Monday. As volcanic ash was still present, the closure was extended until 18.00 WIB.

The Airport Authority also urged all passengers to keep checking flight status and schedules. Checks can be made through the official channels of the airlines.

“We urge all aviation service users to check flight status and schedules through the airlines’ official channels before travelling,” Otban I wrote.
