Closure of Ketapang-Gilimanuk Port During Nyepi Day

The ferry service at Ketapang Port in Banyuwangi, East Java, and Gilimanuk Port in Bali, will be temporarily suspended on Thursday, 19 March 2026, in observance of Nyepi Day, the Hindu Day of Silence. This annual closure allows Bali’s Hindu community to participate in rituals of reflection and quietude, with no activities permitted on the island during this period. The service is expected to reopen on Friday, 20 March 2026, at 05:00 WIB, minimising disruptions to essential travel between the two islands.
