The Minister of Home Affairs, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, officially closed the Kriyanusa 2026 event series at the Jakarta International Convention Centre (JICC), Jakarta, on Wednesday (30/09).

The event is a national-scale exhibition of archipelago crafts organised by the National Crafts Council (Dekranas) to promote craft products and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from various regions across Indonesia. Kriyanusa 2026 took place from 26 to 30 September 2026.

“Indonesia’s potential for crafts is extraordinary. In 2026, the circulating money from the global craft sector is approximately 3,000 billion dollars,” he stated in a written statement on Wednesday (30/09/2026).

Tito explained that revenue potential in the craft sector is still dominated by several countries such as China, India, Vietnam, and the Philippines, which are known to produce handicrafts on a massive scale. Nevertheless, the Minister of Home Affairs noted that Indonesia possesses great potential through the diverse craft outputs and cultures from all corners of the country.

“We can see for ourselves the variety of our crafts. From weaving, fabrics, songket motifs, wood, to jewellery; many of these crafts are incredibly creative,” he added.

Therefore, Tito urged craft artisans as well as the management of Dekranas and Dekranasda (Regional Craft Councils) to continue optimising Indonesia’s craft potential. According to the Minister, these craft products not only contribute economically but also hold significant importance as part of Indonesia’s national cultural identity.

“The nation’s destiny regarding crafts to be trusted on a global level lies in all of our hands, in the hands of all you ladies (members of Dekranas and Dekranasda),” he explained.

On the same occasion, Tito expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the artisans and the management of Dekranas. In his view, the enthusiasm of the women involved in introducing craftwork has a significant impact on the Indonesian nation.

“With saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, officially on behalf of the government, I declare Kriyanusa 2026 closed successfully and smoothly. And see you at Kriyanusa 2027,” he concluded.

During the event, the Minister of Home Affairs also witnessed a fashion show by the Chairpersons of Dekranasda from 32 provinces. Additionally, the Minister and other guests participated in playing the angklung simultaneously to accompany several regional songs.

Also present at the event were the Minister of MSMEs, Maman Abdurahman, along with his officials, the Daily Chairperson of Dekranas, Tri Tito Karnavian, members of the Seruni Red and White Cabinet, and relevant officials from both central and regional governments.
