A Toyota Alphard carrying prominent preacher KH Anwar Zahid was involved in a collision with two trucks in Prangi Village, Padangan District, Bojonegoro, East Java, on Tuesday (11/8/2026). The Bojonegoro Police Traffic Unit confirmed the incident involved a chain-reaction crash between the Alphard and two trucks.

According to Ipda Septian Nur Pratama, Head of the Traffic Accident Unit at Bojonegoro Police, the incident began when the car, driven by a 31-year-old resident of Simo Village, Kanor District, was travelling south with the 52-year-old cleric as a passenger. Due to roadworks implementing a one-way traffic system, the driver stopped behind an unidentified truck. A trailer truck driven by a 44-year-old man from Mojokerto then approached from behind and collided with the stationary vehicle. Police suspect the truck driver was drowsy and lost control of the vehicle.

Abdul Rohman, Head of MTs Plus Sabilunnajah Simo, confirmed that Anwar Zahid, who leads the Sabilunnajah Islamic Boarding School, was in good health following the crash. He stated that the cleric was safe and continued his journey to Banjarnegara using a replacement vehicle.
