Clear weather conditions prevail at three ports in Banten Province, enabling smooth sailing for Eid 2026 homebound travel without major obstacles.

Three ports are operational under Operation Ketupat 2026: Merak Port, Bandar Bakau Jaya Bojonegara Port, and Ciwandan Port.

On Saturday, 14 March 2026 at 13:00 WIB, monitoring at Ciwandan Port in Cilegon City showed travellers enduring bright sunshine whilst queuing in tented lanes.

The Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) forecast no rainfall from 13 to 15 March across Banten Province.

Such weather conditions do not hinder shipping from Java to Sumatra. Vessels can sail safely whilst transporting homebound travellers and logistics trucks.

“Various potential obstacles confront us, one being natural conditions. Whether large waves might occur—praise be to God, the weather has been clear over the past two days, bright during daytime, and everything is running smoothly,” said Banten Police Chief Inspector General Hengki to reporters.

Previously, Hengki stated that conditions at Merak Port, Bojonegara, and Ciwandan remained normal, with no congestion yet occurring at the three ports.

“Our monitoring from last evening through this afternoon shows generally safe and smooth conditions, whether at Bandar Bakau Jaya Port and Bojonegara, which handle logistics vehicles in weight categories 7, 8, and 9; at Merak Port itself; or at Ciwandan Port, Pelindo 2 Ciwandan—overall conditions are safe and running smoothly,” he said.

He noted that on Jalan Lingkar Selatan (JLS) some trucks were stationary on the road. According to him, these trucks were queuing to enter Ciwandan Port.

“Regarding vehicles of weight categories 5 and 6B on Jalan Lingkar Selatan (JLS), they are waiting—this is not congestion. Not congestion. They are waiting in queue to board the ships,” he said.
