For PNM, water is not only a basic necessity of life but also an essential foundation that supports family health as well as community economic productivity.

Marking World Water Day, PNM has reaffirmed its commitment to providing decent access to clean water and sanitation for underprivileged communities.

PNM understands that the sustainability of its customers’ businesses is determined not only by access to financing but also by the availability of basic infrastructure that supports daily life.

Throughout 2025, PNM will initiate a programme to provide clean water and sanitation at 28 locations across various regions in Indonesia.

The programme will be realised through the construction of sanitation facilities, provision of clean water sources, and strengthening of infrastructure that can be collectively utilised by the community.

This initiative will not only benefit aspects of health and environmental cleanliness but also have a tangible impact on community business productivity.

Many PNM customers run household-based businesses such as culinary enterprises, agricultural product processing, or craft production, which heavily depend on the availability of clean water as part of their production processes.

PNM Corporate Secretary L Dodot Patria Ary emphasised that sustainable empowerment must be built through a comprehensive approach, not only in economic aspects but also in improving community quality of life. For underprivileged communities, clean water holds far broader significance than just a basic need.

Water is a source of life as well as a driver of productivity. Many PNM customers rely on water availability for their business activities, from culinary ventures and small-scale farming to various home-based enterprises.

“Therefore, providing access to clean water means opening opportunities for communities to live healthier lives while enhancing their economic capacity,” said Dodot in a statement on Tuesday (24/3/2026).

Dodot added that this effort is part of PNM’s commitment to delivering empowerment that has real and sustainable impacts for the community. He believes that empowerment does not stop at access to capital.

“When communities have a healthier living environment and adequate basic infrastructure, they have greater opportunities to grow, strive, and improve their family welfare,” he added.

The clean water and sanitation provision programme run by PNM also forms part of the company’s contribution to supporting the sustainable development agenda, particularly in achieving decent access to clean water and sanitation for the community.

Through various integrated social initiatives with empowerment programmes, PNM continues to strive to create broader impacts for the community.

Every clean water access point established is not merely infrastructure but a social investment that brings healthier, more productive, and dignified lives to underprivileged communities.
