A number of villages in Indramayu Regency are already experiencing a clean water crisis. Water distribution efforts have been undertaken, including by the Indramayu Police to four villages: Tegalurung and Balongan in Balongan District, and Pabeanilir and Totoran in Pasekan District, Indramayu Regency, on Saturday (20/6).

Indramayu Police Traffic Unit Chief AKP Undang Syarif Hidayat explained that the distribution of clean water aid was part of the 80th Bhayangkara Day commemoration. “This activity is a form of the National Police’s concern for communities experiencing limited access to clean water,” Undang said in a written statement received on Sunday (21/6).

Undang added that the distribution of aid aims to assist residents, particularly in areas affected by drought at the start of the dry season. “The distribution of aid deliberately targets villages identified as having residents with limited access or a clean water supply crisis for their daily needs,” Undang stated.

On the same occasion, Undang also noted that the Indramayu Police will continue to assist the community by sending clean water during this dry season. The water distribution is also used to socialise and educate the public on maintaining environmental cleanliness and using water supplies wisely for daily needs, especially during a water crisis. “We hope this clean water aid helps meet daily needs while also serving as a form of police presence in the community,” Undang said.

Meanwhile, residents appeared enthusiastic about receiving the clean water aid. They greeted the water tanker trucks with queues of jerry cans, buckets, gallons, and other containers to collect the water provided by the Indramayu Police.
