The clean water supply business is projected to continue growing rapidly in the coming years. The government’s target of increasing piped drinking water coverage to 40% by 2029 opens up enormous investment opportunities for infrastructure development and the expansion of Drinking Water Supply Systems (SPAM).

Teguh Subekti, Executive Director of the Indonesian Drinking Water Companies Association (Perpamsi), stated that the level of piped drinking water services in Indonesia is still relatively low. Out of approximately 89 million household connections needed nationally, piped drinking water services currently only reach 22% of the population. When community-based or communal drinking water services are included, the national coverage only reaches 30%.
