Classical music shows at Erasmus Huis

JAKARTA (JP): Classical music lovers will have the chance to
enjoy two performances at the Erasmus Huis Dutch cultural center
on Jl. Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, this Wednesday and Thursday.

Camerata di Musica Jakarta led by Kuei Pin Yeo will perform
this evening at 7:30 marking the 250th anniversary of Johann
Sebastian Bach.

Besides performing solo, pianist Pin Yeo will also perform
with pianist Antjen Yaury, soprano Renata Lim, violinist Jap Tji
Kien and School of Music of Yayasan Musik Jakarta students.

They will present Bach compositions Solo Sonata for violin,
Prelude and Fugue in A minor (transcribed by Liszt), French
Suite, a number of arias and several Bach masterpieces arranged
for string instruments.

The musicians will also perform in Singapore on Nov. 10 where
Pin Yeo will be joined by Singaporean musicians and students of
Dr. Kuei Pin Yeo Institute of Music, according to Mariaty,
spokesperson for Camerata di Musica Jakarta.

On Thursday, Oct. 12, Erasmus Huis will also hold a recital by
the Groningen Guitar Duo, one-time winner of the International
Guitar Competition at Montelimar, France.

Guitarists Remco de Haan and Eric Westerhof have been
performing together for 20 years in Europe, Japan and the USA.
Now touring Southeast Asia and Australia, the duo will perform in
Indonesia on what will be their second visit to the country.

For Thursday's recital they will play works by Debussy, Ter
Veldhuis, Albeniz, Granados and McLauglin. For further
