Clashes in Adonara, NTT: 3 Dead, 5 Injured, 20 Houses Burned
Clashes occurred between residents of Narasaosina Village and Waiburak Village on Adonara Island, East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Police reported that three people died and five others sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.
“Three people died, five suffered minor injuries, and 20 houses were burned down,” said East Flores Police Public Relations Head, AKP Eliezer A Kalelado, as reported by detikBali on Sunday (19/7/2026).
The clash took place on Saturday (18/7) morning. Eliezer stated that the collection of data on the number of victims and damage to houses was still ongoing following the clash between the two villages.
Joint personnel remain on standby at several strategic points in the border area between the two villages to anticipate further clashes.
According to him, the East Flores Police together with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) are also continuing to prioritise humanitarian and preventive measures, ranging from assisting the evacuation of victims, providing security, to establishing communication with community leaders.
“The East Flores Police urges all residents to entrust the handling of the situation to the security forces, avoid actions that could aggravate the situation, and work together to maintain security and order for the sake of peace in East Flores Regency,” he said.
