A conflict between residents of Narasaosina and Waiburak villages in East Adonara District, East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), erupted again this morning. One person was declared dead and three others were injured as a result of the clash between the two villages.

The head of the Ile Boleng Community Health Centre, Stefanus Ola Bura, revealed that the three patients undergoing treatment consisted of one man and two women. All four patients were residents of Waiburak Village.

“There are four patients. One died, three are being treated,” Stefanus said when confirmed on Saturday (18/7/2026).

Stefanus stated that the resident who died in the clash was a 21-year-old patient. According to him, the victims suffered injuries from sharp weapons. On the other hand, it is not yet known whether there are any victims from Narasaosina Village.

It is known that the clash between residents of Narasaosina Village and Waiburak Village has been going on for a long time. The conflict was triggered by a mutual claim over customary land ownership that has not yet been resolved.

The case had been mediated by the East Flores Regency Government some time ago. Even so, clashes still occur. In fact, on 9 May, dozens of houses were burned down and seven residents were hit by bullets and had to be rushed to hospital.
