JAKARTA - The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, has issued a clarification regarding the issue of electric motorcycles for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, which has been a topic of discussion among netizens.

The issue surfaced after a video showing dozens of electric motorcycles bearing the BGN logo went viral on social media.

In the video uploaded by the TikTok account @NOVIR007 on Monday (6/4/2026), it was narrated that there were 70,000 special motorcycles for the West Java region.

The public has questioned the procurement and intended use of these vehicles for the MBG programme.

After the video went viral, Dadan confirmed that the electric motorcycles indeed belong to BGN to support the operations of the Free Nutritious Meals programme, particularly for the heads of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG).

Dadan stated that a number of motorcycles bearing the BGN logo are part of the 2025 budget planning.

Dadan said that the realisation of the motorcycle procurement is being carried out in stages, starting in December 2025.

The public is asked to understand that this procurement is part of the government’s efforts to ensure the smooth implementation of MBG across Indonesia.

Although confirming the procurement of electric motorcycles, Dadan denied the number mentioned as reaching 70,000.

Dadan said that the realised number of electric motorcycle units for SPPG heads is 21,801 out of the 25,000 ordered.

“The information about 70,000 units is not true. The total realised electric motorcycles are 21,801 units out of 25,000 ordered in 2025,” Dadan stated.

This is because the vehicles purchased using the budget must go through administrative processes as State-Owned Goods (BMN) before they can be used.

“The motorcycles have not yet been distributed. Once all are complete, they will first be recorded as BMN before distribution,” he said.
