Clarification and Balinese anger

Regarding the current issue about the execution of the three men convicted for their roles in the 2002 Bali bombings, I think the authorities have not properly explained why these prisoners haven't yet been executed.

The repeated calls for execution reached their climax after the second Bali attacks took place on Oct. 1. Massive protests have increased. What the people want is actually very simple, namely an explanation of this issue and then an execution.

To the deep disappointment of the affected communities, the authorities answered their question by transferring the three convicts -- Amrozi, Imam Samudra and Mukhlas -- to the Nusa Kambangan Penitentiary in Central Java, reportedly for security reasons. The Balinese people's patience has already been severely tested twice -- by the 2002 and 2005 blasts. Nevertheless, the Balinese had remained patient and calm, until on Wednesday on Oct. 12, when a mob of several hundreds of protesters angrily stormed Kerobokan Prison and vandalized the establishment.

It seems that people no longer abide or believe in the law. The "execution" sentence now seems more about manipulation than substance and the transfer of the convicts to Nusa Kambangan makes it crystal-clear that the authorities lack seriousness in upholding the supremacy of law.
