Clarification

I was very surprised to learn from your newspaper on Monday, May 6, 1996 that I did not respond to repeated requests for comments.

In fact, I did not refuse to make any comments nor give an explanation concerning our company's appointment to have a meeting with your Managing Editor. Unfortunately it could not be fulfilled because of a very simple reason: "appropriate time."

When your Managing Editor made the appointment, I had already had some appointments. I was sorry that I had to postpone your Managing Editor's requests last week, and I proposed to have the discussion/meeting with him on Tuesday morning (May 7, 1996).

I am writing this to clarify the matter so as not to create misunderstanding on the part of your readers.
