JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — Digital forensics expert Rismon Sianipar claims that the restorative justice application process in the case of allegations of President Joko Widodo’s fake diploma has entered its final stage.

Rismon’s legal representative, Jahmada Girsang, stated that documents related to the issuance of the Order to Halt Investigation (SP3) are already in their hands, pending only the official police announcement.

“Today is the finalisation of the SP3. It means it’s already final. Essentially, it’s already in my hands,” Jahmada told reporters at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Wednesday (15/4/2026).

“But essentially, it’s final today. Actually, it’s simple, look at Rismon’s face now, is it fresh or more troubled?” Jahmada added.

“Sleep soundly!” Rismon replied immediately.

According to Jahmada, the police will provide an official statement on Thursday (16/4/2026). After that, they will provide further details regarding the restorative justice process.

“To finalise it definitively in legal terms, tomorrow the Head of Criminal Investigation will hold a press conference first, then 15 minutes later we will hold a comprehensive press conference,” he said.

Separately, Deputy Head of Security Prevention of the Criminal Investigation Directorate at Metro Jaya Police, AKBP Akta Wijaya, stated that developments in the case will be announced through the Metro Jaya Police Public Relations.

“For that case, it will be updated through Metro Jaya Police Public Relations, and if a release is issued, it will be delivered by the Head of Criminal Investigation of Metro Jaya Police and the Head of Public Relations,” Akta said when confirmed.

Meanwhile, the Director of General Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Iman Imanudin, and the Head of Public Relations at Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, have not yet responded when sought for confirmation.

“Metro Jaya Police has named eight suspects in the case of defamation, slander, hate speech, and electronic data manipulation reported by Mr. Ir. H. Joko Widodo,” said Metro Jaya Police Chief Irjen Asep Edi Suheri during a press conference at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Friday (7/11/2025).

In general, the eight suspects are charged under Article 27A and Article 28 of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE), as well as Articles 310 and/or 311 of the Criminal Code, with a maximum penalty of six years’ imprisonment.

The suspects are then divided into two clusters based on their actions. The first cluster is also charged under Article 160 of the Criminal Code for incitement to commit violence against public authorities.

Eggi Sudjana, Kurnia Tri Royani, Rizal Fadillah, Rustam Effendi, and Damai Hari Lubis are in that cluster.

Meanwhile, the second cluster consists of Roy Suryo, Rismon Sianipar, and Tifauzia Tyassuma. They are charged under Article 32 paragraph (1) and Article 35 of the ITE Law for allegedly deleting, hiding, and manipulating electronic documents.

Rismon Sianipar then followed a similar path. He admitted to making a mistake in his research regarding the allegations of President Joko Widodo’s fake diploma.
