CKG Results: These 5 Diseases Are Most Commonly Suffered by Indonesians
Bandung, CNBC Indonesia - The Free Health Check (CKG), one of the government’s priority programmes, aims to provide free health screening services to the public without exception. This preventive programme, officially launched in February 2025, has successfully identified several of the most common diseases suffered by Indonesians.
Deputy Health Minister Dante Saksono Harbuwono stated that for adults, the most frequently found cases include hypertension, cholesterol, obesity, lack of physical activity, and dental cavities. Meanwhile, for schoolchildren, the dominant issue is caries or dental cavities.
According to Dante, many serious diseases can actually be prevented if risk factors are detected early through routine health checks.
Dante also said that the CKG programme continues to be expanded to remote areas. He gave an example that health workers in the Sulawesi island regions must use boats to reach the islands to conduct health checks for residents.
“A few days ago, I went to the island regions in Sulawesi. They carried out CKG, and the CKG was done by boat to reach the islands,” said Dante to the media after inspecting the zero-dose immunisation programme in Bandung City on Tuesday (12/6/2026).
He revealed that the challenges in implementing CKG are still quite significant, especially in remote areas like Papua with limited access. Nevertheless, the government ensures that the programme continues to run.
He also emphasised that routine health checks actually have a high value if done independently. According to him, the CKG services provided by the government are worth Rp2 million to Rp3 million per person.
Therefore, Dante urged the public not to waste the opportunity to participate in the programme.
“Do not waste the chance to do CKG because it will save on the costs of checks that were previously borne personally,” he said.
He added that the benefits of the CKG programme cannot be felt instantly. However, in the next five to ten years, the programme is believed to help reduce various chronic diseases in Indonesia.
Dante said that CKG is an important step for the public to know their health condition early before diseases develop into more severe stages.
“We may not be able to see the benefits of CKG as quickly as now. But in 5-10 years, the numbers of heart disease will decrease, stroke will decrease, then diabetes will decrease, kidney failure will decrease,” said Dante.
