The Central Java Furniture and Carving Expo (CJFACE) 2026, organised by the Bank Indonesia Representative Office for Central Java, the Provincial Government of Central Java, and the Jepara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), is targeting transactions worth Rp5 billion. ‘We estimate the target can hopefully reach Rp5 billion, as this is the first time we are holding it,’ said Head of Bank Indonesia Central Java Representative Office Noor Nugroho in Semarang on Saturday. Held at the DP Mall Atrium in Semarang from 13 to 16 June 2026, CJFACE features at least 18 furniture and carving businesses from Jepara. According to Nugroho, furniture was chosen as the exhibition’s focus due to its strategic position as part of the manufacturing industry, which is a key driver of economic growth in Central Java. ‘Many of these producers are also SMEs, so they absorb a large workforce. We hope this can serve as a bridge to achieve more inclusive growth,’ he said. Beyond being a mere exhibition, CJFACE 2026 facilitates direct meetings between businesses and potential buyers to maximise product absorption. ‘We have also invited various parties, including those from the hospitality industry, developers, and others expected to need furniture. We hope transactions will occur, and the bigger, the better,’ he added. On 15 June 2026, the banking sector will be invited to conduct socialisation, education, and business matching sessions to help broaden financing access for businesses. ‘This is to help producers expand their businesses or finance their operational activities. We hope this can be a path opener,’ he said. Furthermore, CJFACE is part of the development of the sharia economy, particularly the halal product ecosystem. ‘This is a road to, or a series of events leading up to, the Central Java Sharia Festival (Fajar) in August and the Java-wide Sharia Economic Festival around September,’ he explained. Meanwhile, Chairman of the Jepara Chamber of Commerce Andang Wahyu Trianto appreciated the event for bringing businesses closer to the market. ‘We see that Jepara is located in a corner. It is a destination area, not a transit area. Therefore, this exhibition brings us closer to buyers,’ he said. He noted that businesses currently face many regulations when marketing products, especially abroad, such as certifications and other requirements. Through this exhibition, he hopes to expand the domestic or local market, which is no less potential than the export market. ‘We can meet buyers and engage in business-to-business interactions with hoteliers, restaurateurs, resort operators, interior designers, housing developers, property firms, and others. This is what we are hoping for,’ he said.
