One lesson we have learned from Aceh's devastation by the
tsunami is the importance of civil solidarity to unify the
nation. This solidarity must never be betrayed.

Public accountability and transparency should therefore be
ensured through wisdom, sincerity and the adoption of policies by
fund-raisers that prevent irregularities and any exploitation of
the disaster to serve personal or group interests.

To this end, the Indonesian Artists Welfare Cooperative (KSSI)
appeals that aid for Aceh be detailed in the way it was raised
and spent, so that accountability and credibility can be
guaranteed, without betraying solidarity.
