Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto has issued a policy for Work From Home (WFH) every Friday for civil servants (ASN) within the Bogor Regency Government. This policy is outlined in Circular Letter Number 000.8.3/578-ORG dated 27 March 2026, in response to the escalation of the global crisis and rising energy prices.

“We want to ensure that ASN performance remains optimal while also contributing meaningfully to energy savings,” said Regent Rudy Susmanto.

According to the circular, ASN will carry out duties via WFH every Friday, while other working days will continue as Work From Office (WFO). The policy will be implemented after the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah holiday and collective leave.

Although implementing a flexible work system, essential public services such as hospitals, transportation, security, and disaster management will continue normally at the office. According to Rudy, work flexibility must not reduce the quality of services to the public.

“Public services are the top priority. Therefore, essential service units must operate fully, and all ASN must maintain prime service standards to the community,” he said.

In addition to work arrangements, the Bogor Regency Government is also implementing energy efficiency policies in the office environment, from using energy-saving electrical equipment and turning off unused lights, optimising sunlight through workspace layout, saving water and office stationery use, to setting the minimum AC temperature at 24 degrees Celsius.

The Bogor Regency Government is encouraging changes in ASN mobility patterns to be more environmentally friendly and reduce fuel consumption. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, ASN are advised to use official vehicles together or carpool. Meanwhile, on Wednesdays, use public transport, avoid private or official cars, and are encouraged to use motorbikes, bicycles, and walking.

Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto stated that this policy is an adaptive step by the Bogor Regency Government in maintaining a balance between work productivity and energy efficiency. The policy is taken as a strategic measure to face the impact of the global crisis, particularly in the energy sector.

“We want to build a culture of energy saving among ASN, starting from simple things like regulating electricity use to changing transportation patterns that are more efficient and environmentally friendly,” said Rudy.

To ensure the policy runs optimally, ASN are still required to conduct attendance and performance reporting through the SiCantik application and be ready to come to the office if there are urgent tasks. He emphasised that ASN discipline remains the key to the success of this policy.

“WFH does not mean lowering discipline. On the contrary, ASN are demanded to be more professional, responsible, and responsive to community needs, including being ready to attend if necessary,” he said.

Through this policy, the Bogor Regency Government demonstrates its commitment to facing global challenges with concrete steps that not only impact budget efficiency but also support environmental conservation efforts. “We want this policy to be part of a collective movement, not only for efficiency but also as a regional contribution to facing global challenges and maintaining environmental sustainability,” said Rudy Susmanto.
