Civil servants perform poorly

SEMARANG: Civil servants have been performing poorly as a result of which their productivity has remained low, a deputy Central Java governor has said.

H. Achmad, who is in charge of administrative affairs, said on Wednesday that the poor performance of civil servants had also led to their work being inferior in nature.

"Such a performance indicates a lack of professionalism," Achmad was quoted by Antara as saying.

All civil servants should have the comprehensive vision to carry out their jobs. "Their service to public should be orientated towards popular participation. The new paradigm of development is that the government plays the role of facilitator."

The most serious challenge facing regional administration is human resources. "We need professional and honest personnel who are of high integrity."
