Civil Servants in Komcad Programme to Receive Shooting Training
The Head of the National Reserve Agency of the Ministry of Defence, Lieutenant General Gabriel Lema, stated that the ministry has prepared a curriculum as material for the reserve component (Komcad) training programme for civil servants. The first wave of Komcad training participants consists of 2,019 civil servants from 49 ministries and agencies.
Gabriel explained that the civil servants participating in Komcad will receive basic military training. One of the military-style training methods to be implemented is the operation of weapons.
“They (the Komcad participant civil servants) will later have to carry out shooting exercises,” he said when met at the National Monument field in Jakarta on Monday, 13 April 2026.
Nevertheless, he stated that the Komcad participant civil servants will only receive limited knowledge regarding such military-style training. In addition, the 2,019 civil servants will receive training focused on character building.
“The training curriculum in a simple context includes building corps spirit, care, discipline, mental resilience, and ways to solve problems,” said this three-star general.
He stated that the implementation of the Komcad training programme curriculum for civil servants aligns with the objectives to be achieved. Gabriel said the goal of Komcad training for civil servants is not only to improve national defence readiness but also to build professional, loyal, integrity-filled human resources with a national defence character.
The 2,019 civil servants participating in the first wave of Komcad training have been dispatched to six educational institutions to undergo further tests regarding physical competence, psychology, and ideological mentality. Meanwhile, the Basic Military Training programme will be opened on 22 April at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in East Jakarta.
The six educational institutions facilitating this Komcad training programme include Puskombelneg BPSDM Kemhan, Rindam Jaya, Pusdikes Puskesat, Brigif 1 Pasmar, Pusbahasa Kodiklat AU, and Wingdik 500 Atang Sanjaya. The Komcad participant civil servants will undergo training for 45 days.
