The government continues to promote the welfare of the state civil apparatus (ASN) from the beginning of their careers until they enter retirement, according to the Head of the National Civil Service Agency (BKN), Zudan Arief Fakrulloh. Specifically for retirement, Taspen Life has designed a number of programme options that ASN can utilise to optimise old-age benefits through gradual and sustainable planning. With a commitment to disciplined saving and investing, the benefits received upon retirement can grow significantly according to the scheme chosen by the participant. “Being an ASN is not just about serving the country today, but also ensuring a good quality of life in the future,” Zudan said during a BKN Menyapa BKD online event themed “Benefits of ASN Old-Age Savings (THT) of Rp 1 Billion”. “The earlier the planning is done, the greater the opportunity to achieve a safe, peaceful, and prosperous retirement,” he stressed. These Taspen Life welfare programmes include the opportunity to obtain old-age savings benefits of up to Rp 1 billion, as well as guaranteed benefit protection for families if the participant faces risks before entering retirement. According to Zudan, this indicates that ASN have increasingly broad access to various financial planning instruments and old-age protection programmes. This ease of access provides an opportunity for ASN to develop long-term financial strategies according to their respective needs and welfare targets. “ASN must start thinking about the future from today. Upon entering retirement, ASN are expected to remain productive, independent, and have good financial resilience. Therefore, financial literacy is an important part of developing human resources in the apparatus,” Zudan said. He also emphasised that human resource development for the apparatus is not only related to improving competence and performance during the working period, but also encompasses the readiness of ASN to face retirement with healthy and independent financial conditions. According to him, ASN welfare must be viewed comprehensively, from the active period through to entering retirement.
