Civil Servant in Pekalongan Admits to Driving Over Wet Concrete Road
The Head of the Pekalongan City Civil Service and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM), Rusmani Budiharjo, has revealed the reasons why a civil servant ventured onto a wet concrete road in Simbang Kulon. The official admitted that traffic was quite heavy and it was rush hour, forcing them to take the shortcut.
“At that time, it was rush hour; the morning commute was very busy, and there was a queue behind them. I do not know the exact details of that information,” said Rusmani, as reported by detikJateng on Tuesday (29/09/2026).
“According to information from the individual concerned, they felt forced to pass through there. However, in our view, it was an error, and therefore the individual must apologise,” added Rusmani.
At the time of the incident on Monday (28/09) morning, Rusmani stated that the road was still in the base concreting stage. It was noted that several motorcycles had also passed through previously. However, it was acknowledged that the civil servant was the first car to traverse the area.
“Initially, it was still the base layer, so the height difference from the existing road was not very drastic. Therefore, it was driven over. Regarding cars, yes, the individual concerned was indeed the first. However, there were motorcycles before them. The information suggests there were motorcycles, and I also saw in the video that there were motorcycle tracks, though not many,” he said.
During the incident, the road conditions were reported to be busy due to morning activities. According to the information received by the BKPSDM from the individual involved, these conditions were the reason they ultimately drove through the road under repair.
“Regardless, we consider it to be an error, and the individual must apologise,” he emphasised.
