Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ) is strengthening its commitment to higher education development in the regions through the handover of the Decree for the Civil Engineering Study Programme at the Off-Campus Study Programme (PSDKU) UMJ Tulang Bawang.

The decree for the Civil Engineering Study Programme was handed over by the Head of LLDIKTI Region II Palembang, Iskhaq Iskandar, to the Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ), represented on this occasion by UMJ Vice Rector IV, Septa Candra, together with the Coordinator of PSDKU UMJ Tulang Bawang, Sampor Ali, on Monday (24/8/2026) at the LLDIKTI Region II Palembang Office.

This handover marks an important milestone for the development of PSDKU UMJ Tulang Bawang and signals the start of UMJ campus operations in Tulang Bawang. The presence of the Civil Engineering Study Programme strengthens UMJ’s efforts to expand access to higher education and offer study programmes relevant to regional development needs.

The Civil Engineering Study Programme is expected to contribute to preparing human resources with competencies in construction, infrastructure and regional development.

UMJ Vice Rector IV, Septa Candra, said the establishment of the Civil Engineering Study Programme is a strategic step in strengthening UMJ’s contribution to human resource development in Tulang Bawang Regency and surrounding areas.

According to him, the development of PSDKU is not only oriented towards the provision of education, but is also directed at building synergy between universities, regional government, the business world and the community. Thus, the presence of PSDKU UMJ Tulang Bawang is expected to provide broader benefits for regional development.

The handover of the decree also serves as an important momentum for UMJ to continue the sustainable development of PSDKU Tulang Bawang. With the addition of study programmes, UMJ is expected to be increasingly able to provide quality, relevant and accessible higher education for communities in the Lampung region and its surroundings.
