City's toll road tariff increase

PT Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada (CMNP) plans to increase the price of toll road usage in the city by 33 percent of the current rate (Kompas, Dec. 24, 1994). In this relation I would like to raise some problems for considerations by CMNP and PT Jasa Marga.

No stern sanction is imposed on motorists who violate toll traffic regulations. The toll road authorities have not regulated specific time for trucks and trailers to pass. There are still many other problems that have yet to be addressed.

To avoid an impression that the planned tariff increase is merely based on financial considerations, the road management should also consider many factors that have close relation to the traffic on toll roads.

As motorists/toll road users we expect the most benefit of toll roads, such as obstruction-free traffic.
