City widens Jl. Raya Lenteng Agung

JAKARTA: To prevent future traffic congestion on Jl. Raya
Lenteng Agung which connects Pasar Minggu and Depok, the South
Jakarta Public Works Agency plans to widen the road.

The two-lane road will have one additional lane by the end of
this month, said the head of the road construction unit at the
agency, Rahadi.

"Because of the construction, the food vendors along the road
will have to be evicted. The space belongs to the state, so they
are not eligible for any sort of compensation," Rahadi said. --JP
