City transportation an ordeal

As a new comer to Jakarta, I feel miserable. I find it awfully
difficult to use public transportation here. Even if you wish to
take a taxi, you have to wait hours to get one. The situation is
even worse for my children. They have to run after the bus while
it is still in motion in order to get themselves aboard. And they
often have to stand on the door sill of the bus because every
inch of space inside is full.

Oh my God! Why do we have to face all these inconveniences? In
our hometown in the province life is much more peaceful. I'm
tempted to retire soon if this condition continues indefinitely.
I am always anxious about my children traveling.
