City to have one-stop lifestyle center

JAKARTA: PT Summarecon Agung Tbk, the largest developer in
Kelapa Gading, East Jakarta, officially began the groundbreaking
ceremony to create a new concept of town square on Wednesday.

The town square, to be named La Piazza, will be built on a
one-hectare plot of land near Kelapa Gading circle, where Jl.
Bulevar Utama and Jl. Bulevar Barat-Timur meet, said the
company's director Paul Nio during a press conference.

Paul said that the town square concept would only have 30
selected outlets, leaving a very big open space for visitors.

"This is a new concept (for Indonesians), a one-stop lifestyle
center," he said.

La Piazza plans to provide upmarket restaurants, a dance club,
a billiard club, stores with popular foreign brands, bookstores,
a spa and karaoke lounges.

Paul said that all sorts of entertainment would be available
at La Piazza, which will target well-heeled families, and
therefore he guaranteed that the plaza would be a "clean" place
suitable for all members of the family.

La Piazza is expected to cost around Rp 60 billion (US$7.15
