City to have ice skating rink

JAKARTA (JP): The construction of an ice skating rink at the Mega Mall Pluit, North Jakarta, started on Friday. The rink is expected to be completed next December.

The ice skating rink will have a total area of 1,080 square meters, with an ice layer of 70 mm. The facility is being built by PT Putra Swabina Prasatya with a total investment of Rp 5 billion (US$2.2 million).

The construction of the project is jointly conducted with Patine Corporation of Japan. That firm has 35 years of experience in ice skating-rink business. The Japanese firm has built over 200 similar facilities in Japan and other countries in Asia. (yns)
